About The Tequila
The BelAir Cantina Herradura Double Barrel Reposado Tequila is made in the town of Amatitán, Jalisco, in the heart of Mexico’s tequila region. Resposado means rested in Spanish, meaning the select BelAir Catina tequila has been aged twice before bottling. This process allows the depth of the flavors within the tequila to strengthen and develop a striking smoothness.
The precise blend of the tequila was selected by the BelAir Cantina owners. Travelling to the depths of Mexico, crossing hundreds of miles of harsh desert sands on the backs of mules, with only a single canteen of water, the BelAir crew survived on cactus flowers and sun-fried lizards all in the name of tequila!
Upon arriving at Casa Herradura, where the tequila is distilled, they were able to open three separate barrels of the 11-month old reposado tequila. Each barrel had its own distinctions and after copious amounts of sampling and re-sampling, the team chose the barrel that offered a golden color with great hints of vanilla and other spices. Once selected, Casa Herradura sealed the barrel for one final month of aging.
Every ounce of Herradura tequila starts with the Blue Weber agave plant that is a descendant of the original agave planted in 1870 on the hacienda. The Casa Herradura distillery rests its Double Barrel Resposado for at least 9 months longer than the category standards in toasted oak barrels, a process that distinguishes this tequila in color, flavor and palatal depth.
